LIST AND MEANINGS OF TERMS USED ON THE SITE

VHS MASTER/1ST/2ND/3RD/4TH/LOW/MID/HIGH - sourced from VHS tape with
known or unknown generation
Unspecified Master - sourced from master but unknown type
MiniDV/Digital8 Master - sourced from miniDV or Digital8 master tape
HDD Master - sourced from SD resolution camcorder with internal HDD or memory card
DVD Camcorder Master - sourced from DVD-camcorder's disc
Digital Video Broadcast - SD recording from digital television source
Hi8 Master - sourced from Hi8/8mm analog master tape
Standalone-Recorder-Copy From DVD(Master) - DVD copied in analog way with DVD-player
to DVD-recorder lineage which caused huge quality loss
HD master - sourced from HD camera recording (for example AVCHD, HDV, MP4)
Digicam master - SD (or lower resolution) recording sourced from digital still image camera
Mobile phone - source recorded with mobile phone
WEB - webstream source
HDTV - digital High Definiton TV broadcast source
Analog TV broadcast recording - recorded from analog TV broadcast with TV tuner
card or standalone DVD-recorder
4K Master - UHD 4K source
MicroMV master - sourced from MicroMV master tape
FORMATS
DVD-Video - standard DVD with VIDEO_TS folder (VOB+IFO files)
Blu-Ray - standard Blu-Ray disc with BDMV folders
BDAV MPEG Transport Stream (MTS) - AVCHD camera recording (raw files) (H264 codec)
BDAV MPEG Transport Stream (M2TS) - HD camera recording (raw files) (H264 or MPEG2 codec)
MP4 - MPEG-4 Part 14 or MP4 digital multimedia container format
MPEG Program Stream - standard MPEG file (same as used on DVDs and multimedia discs)
Matroska Video - Matroska Multimedia Container is a free, open-standard container format, a file format that
can hold an unlimited number of video, audio, picture, or subtitle tracks in one file
AVI - Microsoft video contanier format. Can contian various codecs (for example DIVX, DV, H264, MJPEG)
Video CD MPEG1 file - MPEG1 file in VCD format (352x240 or 352x288 resolution with MP2 audio).
This term has been really incorrectly used in trading community! AVI, WMV, FLV, MKV and other formats are not VCDs!
Super Video CD MPEG2 file - MPEG2 file in SVCD format (480x480 or 480x576 resolution with MP2 audio).

Windows Media Video and Advanced Systems Format - (WMV, WMA and ASF files) Advanced Systems Format (formerly Advanced Streaming Format,
Active Streaming Format) is Microsoft's proprietary digital audio/digital video container format, especially meant for streaming media.
QuickTime Video - Apple's multimedia conatiner format, can hold various codecs like AVI.
Flash Video File - Flash Video is a container file format used to deliver digital video content over the Internet using Adobe Flash Player
version 6 and newer. Flash Video content may also be embedded within SWF files. Can contain various codecs.
RealMedia - RealMedia is a proprietary multimedia container format created by RealNetworks. Its extension is ".rm".
It is typically used in conjunction with RealVideo and RealAudio and is used for streaming content over the Internet.
TERMS
"Original webstream file" - raw copy of webstream, recorded and repacked without re-encoding.
"Screen capture." - Webstream recorded via some screen recording software like Bandicam or FRAPS.
OTHER NOTES
Lossy and lossless videos: Lots of misunderstanding in the trading community about this meaning.
ALL OF the commonly used video formats are LOSSY. The only "lossy" vs "lossless thing is the processing.
Lossless processing is multiplexing (like TS to MKV with mkvtoolnix) or cutting by keyframes (like VideoReDo).
Lossy processing is everything that involves re-encoding (e.g. converting H264 to MPEG2, rendering a multicam mix ).
RATING
Rating is very subjective, but there is a guide:
9-10: Excellent recording, might contain minor flaws but those won't ruin the viewing pleasure.
7-8: Very good quality recording with noticeable flaws, but nice to watch anyway.
6: Good quality and watchable, but may contain major flaws.
4-5: Not so good, with lots of flaws. Patially watchable.
3: Shit, but least you can see something.
0-2: Absolutely garbage quality. Why I haven't deleted this one yet?
